The X-48B Space Plane
X-48B
The X-48b like the X-33 is a possible test plane for the future of the NASA space program. Like the X-33 and the shuttles it is able to be used over and over again. The design, from Boeing, has a sleek smart design with three jet engines to get it to space. Currently this plane is only scale and is being tested in air tunnels (bottom Right). The X-48 has three versions. The X-48A has a more sleek design( in the middle) which was used in the later designs and the X-48C (bottom Left).
The X-48C has cut out one of the engines and also made it more energy efficient for the sake of the cost of the program. The X-48 series could also be used as an airliner to space or like other planes since other models to come were expected to have more internal space for future passengers.
